These terms are the agreement between you and the operator of Either. Creating an account, convening a decision, voting, or reading The Split means you accept them.
What Either is
Either is a place to put a real decision in front of a council of perspectives, then in front of people you choose. The council argues. The people you invite vote before they see that argument. You can approve a short public card for The Split.
What Either is not
Either does not tell you what to do. A verdict is a distribution across the options, computed from the council’s positions. It is not financial, legal, medical, or other professional advice, and it is not a prediction of what will happen. You decide.
Accounts
You need an account to convene. You must be at least 18. Use your own name and an email you can open. You are responsible for the password and for what happens through the account. Someone you invite can vote without an account.
What you write
You keep what you write: the situation, the answers, the evidence, and the public card. You give Either permission to store it, run the council on it, show the private ballot to the people you invite, and show the card you approve on The Split.
Don’t put someone else’s private life on The Split, and don’t invite a person you have no business asking. You are responsible for having the right to share what you submit.
The council
A language model may write the council’s words. Either computes the percentages, the recommendation, and the confidence. Models are wrong sometimes. The audit on a sitting names the provider that wrote it. The chair that scores it is Either’s own code, not the model.
Acceptable use
- Don’t break into an account, a vote, or the service.
- Don’t use Either to harass, threaten, or impersonate someone.
- Don’t submit anything illegal to possess or to publish.
- Don’t scrape the service or overload it.
- Don’t present a verdict as professional advice.
If we have to stop
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. You can ask us to delete yours. Unpublishing a card removes it from The Split. The private case stays until the account is deleted.
Liability
Either is provided as it is. We don’t guarantee that a sitting is complete, that a vote will arrive, or that the service will be up. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for a decision you make, a vote someone casts, or a sentence a model writes. Our total liability for a claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars if you paid nothing.
Some places don’t allow those limits. If you live in one of them, the limits apply only as far as that law allows. These terms follow the laws of the United States.
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes with them. Continuing to use Either after that date means you accept the new terms.
