This notice describes what Either holds about you, why, and who else handles it. It covers geteither.com.
What we hold
- Account: name, email, and a hash of the password. We do not store the password itself.
- The decision: the situation you write, the questions and answers, the evidence, the lean you mark, and each sitting.
- Invites: the email address you ask us to write to, and whether the message sent.
- Votes: the option, an optional reason, and whether it came from an invite or The Split.
- A public card, only after you write it and confirm it.
- A sign-in session, and a browser id so a public reader votes once.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell personal information. We don’t run ads. We don’t ask for demographics. We don’t use your cases to train an Either model. A case is not a training stream.
Who else handles it
- Cloudflare hosts the site.
- Supabase stores the decision record.
- OpenAI may receive the situation, the answers, and the evidence, so it can write a sitting. If that call isn’t configured, Either writes the sitting itself and nothing is sent.
- Resend delivers invite mail and password resets. The invite names you and includes the link.
Those processors are in the United States.
Private and public
The situation you write stays off The Split. People you invite see the situation and the options, and they do not see the council until they have voted. A public card shows only the headline and option labels you approved. Either refuses a card that contains your name, your email, a phone number, or a long slice of the private writeup.
How long
We keep the account and its decisions while the account exists. A password-reset link expires after one hour. Ask us to delete the account and we delete the private record tied to it. A card that is still public comes down when you unpublish it, or when the account is deleted.
Your requests
You can read and correct your name and email in settings. Access, a copy, correction, and deletion are handled on Your rights, including the California and European requests. There is no self-serve delete yet.
Children
Either is not for anyone under 18. We don’t knowingly keep an account for a child.
